Aphasia Narratives Gavel Club
meets for 2 hours weekly.
Small group and individualized treatment sessions
- To present personal narratives in a group
- Build structure and cohesiveness in the narrative/discourse
- Increase confidence to address an audience/participate in social interactions
- Implement active listening during conversation
- Self-awareness for conversational repair
Mission: Small group format with individualized functional treatment for people with mild aphasia to support engagement in their personal lives through improved word recall in conversation and shared narratives to increase confidence, peer support, and independence with communication.
